Soccer Powers Carroll, Canterbury Play To 5-5 Draw

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Offense wasn’t a problem on Tuesday night at Hancock Field as 2A no. 4 Canterbury and 2A no. 12 Carroll battled to a 5-5 draw.

Alec Sanderson opened the scoring in the 10th minute as the Carroll junior lofted a perfect shot past the goalkeeper from 22 yards out. Two minutes later Akil Watts evened the score at 1-1, and Canterbury’s Logan Lee gave the Cavaliers a 2-1 lead in the 15th minute with a scoring strike of his own.

Sanderson tallied two goals on the night while teammate Noah Fleming registered a hat trick.

Watts and Lee would each score two goals on the evening with teammate Jamison Kline scoring once.
