Traffic stop nets drugs, 2 arrested

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A traffic stop led to the arrest of a man and a teen after police found a slew of drugs in their vehicle.

Just after 2:40 a.m. a.m. Thursday, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department deputy pulled over a Chevrolet Impala for moving and equipment violations, according to a report.

After initially giving police a false identity, the driver, 29-year-old Cody H. Osborn, was found to have an active warrant out of a neighboring county, the report said.

During a search of the vehicle, police found 30 grams of crystal methamphetamine, powder methamphetamine, LSD strips, marijuana and paraphernalia, the report said.

Osborn was arrested on preliminary felony charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance schedule 1, providing a false identity, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

A woman in the car, 19-year-old Kristian A. Martin, was arrested on preliminary felony charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance schedule 1, possession of controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Both Osborn and Martin were taken to the DeKalb County Jail.
