FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Fort Wayne Police have asked for the public’s help to identify two men who they say broke into a vehicle earlier this month and stole a credit card before using it at several area shops and eateries.
Police were called around 2 p.m. Aug. 4 to a home in the 700 block of Candlelite Court about a theft from a vehicle. There, a man told police his vehicle was broken into sometime between 1 a.m. and noon.
The man said his credit card had been taken and he found numerous charges on it, including $200 at a Shell gas station, $100 at a Rickers gas station, $85 at a McDonalds and two visits to Walmart for a combined $80 before the card was eventually declined.
Two weeks later, police have released surveillance footage from inside one of the stores the men shopped.
Stills provided by Fort Wayne Police show one man dressed in a red shirt, shorts and white shoes, and another man dressed in a grey sweatshirt with ADIDAS across it in blue, grey athletic shorts and white shoes.
