Police: Husband confesses to killing Indianapolis woman

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Police say an Indianapolis man has confessed to killing his wife whose body was found in Fort Harrison State Park.

Lawrence police say they arrested 67-year-old Robert L. Moore on a preliminary charge of murder Friday.

A woman walking her dog discovered the body of 55-year-old Tina Moore on Wednesday. The Marion County Coroner’s Office said she had been suffocated.

Lawrence Police Sgt. Gary Woodruff says Moore told police he and his wife had a fight Tuesday night that led to her death. Afterward, Moore said he moved the body to the park on the northeast side of Indianapolis

Moore filed a missing person report for his wife Wednesday afternoon after her body was found.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether Moore has an attorney who might comment on the case.
