GARRETT, Ind. (WANE) – The Garrett Railroaders rebounded from their worst record in almost a decade in 2014, finishing 8-4 and playing for a sectional title. Fourth year head coach, Chris DePew, and his team look to build off that momentum in 2015.
The Railroaders bring back a core of returning starters, including QB Tanner Burns. During his sophomore season in 2014 he had 1,473 passing yards with 12 touchdowns. His favorite target Kordell Kessler also returns to the team. He had seven of those 12 touchdowns.
The largest hole on offense that the Railroaders will need to fill will be in the backfield. All-State RB Bo Davis graduated in 2014. Juniors Jaden Baker and Spencer Reneau to pick up the slack. They’ll have three returners back on the offensive line, and five returners back on defense.
The Railroaders are looking for their sectional title since 2003.
Garrett begins their season on August 21st traveling to Prairie Heights.
