WELLS COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A man who pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated resulting in the death of three people will spend the next 30 years in prison.
Anthony Dager was driving on State Road 1 at 4:40 a.m. April 4 when he crossed the center line and hit a vehicle head-on. In June he pleaded guilty to three counts of causing death while operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. His blood alcohol level was more than 0.15 percent.
He was sentenced to serve 10 years for each count.
The driver, Rebecca R. Prentice, was pronounced dead at the scene along with the front seat passenger, Paul E. Penrod. The back seat passenger, Karen S. Smith was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital, where she later died.
