FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Inspired by melodies of the 60s, one band is making a name for itself in the Summit City. Made up of four young musicians, The B45’s draw lyrical ideas from sleepovers and write most of their own music.
Ben Tarr (guitar and vocals), Kellen Baker (lead guitar and vocals), Sam Clay (drums) and Colin Taylor (bass and vocals) met through school and Sweetwater Sound’s Rock Camp Program. The band quickly came together within the last couple years.
The group, who get a lot of inspiration from the Beatles, chose the name, B45’s after the 45 record.
“We thought that the A side is always like the hit single but we always thought the B side was the one that didn’t get enough credit,” said Tarr.
The B45s can be seen around town, playing at the Phoenix, the Brass Rail, Rock the Plaza, and most recently, the Foellinger Theatre.
