TinCaps blast Dragons, 14-1

TinCaps' Franmil Reyes belts a grand slam in the eighth inning Wednesday night.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The TinCaps made easy work of Dayton Wednesday night. Fort Wayne took an early 3-1 lead before tacking on 11 more runs between the seventh and eighth innings for a 14-1 win.

The TinCaps scored five runs in the seventh, and followed it up with six more in the eighth.

While the team played small ball for most of the night, it was the heavy hitters who put the final nail in the Dragons’ coffin.

In the eighth inning, Franmil Reyes hit a grand slam for his sixth home run of the year. Luis Tejada and Trae Santos followed it up later in the frame with solo home runs of their own.

Four players combined to go 13-for-18 with eight runs and 12 runs batted in. The big producers were Reyes, Santos, Tejada, and Luis Urias

Dayton and the TinCaps face off Thursday night at Parkview Field at 7:05.
