FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Two men have been arrested following a shooting Thursday evening that apparently resulted from a disturbance at an industrial park complex Thursday night.
Officers were called to the Valero gas station at Ardmore Avenue and Engle Road around 9:30 p.m. after someone called for help according to Fort Wayne police.
According to investigators, some type of disturbance between a group of people took place on Engleton Road and led to multiple shots being fired at a pickup truck. A passenger in the truck was struck and the driver went to a nearby gas station to call for help.
The shooting victim was hospitalized in serious condition.
Three bullet holes could be seen in the truck’s windshield and one in the tailgate. It’s unclear if anyone in the truck fired shots.
Police were able to get behind a possible suspect vehicle and eventually made a traffic stop. Officers detained four people for questioning in connection with the shooting.
As a result, two people were arrested. Steven Lee Bleich faces felony charges of aggravated battery, battery by means of a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness while armed with a deadly weapon. Colton Vibbert faces the same charges along with a count of assisting a criminal.
The name of the victim has not been released.
Police have not said what lead to the disturbance or if those involved knew each other.
The incident is under investigation.
