Pet Supplies Plus is a retail store best known of its wide range of natural and grocery pet foods, made-in- the- USA pet products, grooming services and regular pet adoptions with community shelters.

The store celebrated its grand opening with specials all weekend long, including free claw trimming until 4 p.m. Sunday.

The store opened at 1601 Stellhorn Road, next to Target in the Northwood Plaza. Store manager Mellissa Kirk said it’s the second Pet Supplies Plus store in Fort Wayne. The first location opened at 4714 Coldwater Road in 1993.

As the store celebrates its new location, there will be various specials until August 19. One of the specials includes using the self-service dog washers. It usually costs $10, but there is a coupon good until then for people to use it for free. Dog owners can shampoo, rinse and dry their pet, without paying the high price for a groomer.

The store offers a VIP PetCare Clinic, with low cost vaccines and heartworm testing. It also partners with different rescue groups in the area, including Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control for adoption days.

Pet Supplies Plus isn’t just a store for dogs and cats. It’s also a store with supplies for fish, birds and reptiles.
