Man stabbed, hospitalized in serious condition

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man is in serious condition after being stabbed near downtown Monday night.

Shortly before midnight, police officers went to the 400 block of Baker Street after an initial hangup of a 911 call.

A man was found to be suffering from a stab would to the arm, according to police. The man immediately began walking towards an ambulance as they arrived.

Sources told NewsChannel 15 a woman who lives with the man said he left the house, but when he returned he was injured.

Officers canvassed an area several blocks away at Broadway and West Jefferson Boulevard looking for a crime scene. They were unable to locate any evidence that something took place there.

Investigators continue to question both about what took place.

The man was reported in serious condition at a hospital early Tuesday morning.

No arrests have been made.

The incident is under investigation.
