DES MOINES, Iowa (WISH) — The largest newspaper in Iowa wants Donald Trump to drop out of the presidential race after his recent comment about Arizona Senator John McCain.

On Saturday, at a GOP political event in Iowa, Trump said, “He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who aren’t captured.”

Trump is referring to the five years McCain spent as a prisoner during the Vietnam War.

The Des Moines Register published an editorial Monday night referring to Trump as a “feckless blowhard.”

The editorial said he is unfit to hold office and not fit to stand on the same stage as his Republican opponents.

Iowa holds the first presidential contest on Feb. 1, 2016.
