Habitat for Humanity taking homeowner applications

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Allen County families have the chance to become homeowners through Fort Wayne Habitat for Humanity during a kickoff application event. The nonprofit organization is taking new homeowner applications starting July 15.

Habitat for Humanity requires three things for homeownership: need for housing, ability to pay and willingness to partner. Homes are sold to families with a $500 down payment and interest free mortgage.

On Wednesday, July 15 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m., potential homeowners can stop by Fuller’s Landing at 4308 W. Cook Road to apply and tour a model home. Applications will be taken from July 15 to September 30.

Habitat for Humanity is a Christian housing ministry that uses volunteer labor to build simple, affordable homes through partnerships with qualified families.
