Block party focuses on community involvement

Dozens turned out to a block party in Fort Wayne.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Families in the Renaissance Pointe Neighborhood enjoyed a block party Saturday afternoon.

“Step Up To Fitness Studio” sponsored the event. There was free food, face painting, music and even a fitness competition. The block party also had vendors educating people on health and wellness, civic responsibility and political awareness.

“I feel so blessed to be a part of a community where we have so many very, very gifted young people,” event coordinator Linda Brooks said. “This is the cream of the crop right here for Fort Wayne. These youth right here, they’ve very gifted.”

Brooks announced she’s seeking the Renaissance Pointe Neighborhood Association Presidency.
