FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Bishop Luers High School graduate Kristi O’Brien will be on the biggest stage for women’s golf yet again this weekend.
O’Brien carded a 72 in Monday’s qualifier to earn a spot in the LPGA’s Walmart NW Arkansas Championship in Rogers, Arkansas.
It will mark the second LPGA event in O’Brien’s career. She qualified for the Kingsmill Championship in Williamsburg, Virginia last month.
O’Brien is looking to improve on her LPGA debut. She was +18 after two rounds in Williamsburg and did not make the cut.
She says dealing with the nerves that come with playing an LPGA event will be easier this time around.
O’Brien is a two-time Fort Wayne city champion and a former all-conference performer at IUPUI.
O’Brien will tee off at 12:26 p.m. Friday at Pinnacle Country Club.
