OSSIAN, Ind. (WANE) – Arizona Cardinals quarterback and Norwell High School grad Chandler Harnish returned to his alma mater this week, hosting his third annual Youth Football Camp.
This year’s camp was open to all students in Wells county in grades three through eight.
The camp aims to teach football skills along with life lessons.
Harnish was selected with the final pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Colts. He spent two seasons on Indy’s practice squad, but was released after the 2014 preseason. Later that season he signed with the Minnesota Vikings and spent time on their active roster. However, Harnish suffered a foot injury and was ultimately released by Minnesota.
He signed a one-year deal with the Cardinals in late March, reuniting him with head coach Bruce Arians. Arians was the offensive coordinator for the Colts when Indianapolis drafted Harnish.
Harnish and the Cardinals just completed OTAs and mini camp. With Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton likely the top two QBs on Arizona’s roster Harnish is likely battling Logan Thomas for the third-string role.
