Ribfest gets underway at Headwaters Park

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The 18th annual BBQ Ribfest at Headwaters Park starts Thursday and runs through Sunday.

This year’s family event features eight Rib Masters from across the country and some of the best blues music around.

Last year, almost 40,000 people attended the event and crowds are expected to be large this year.

Timmy’s Pizza and BBQ, Carolina Rib King, Pigfoot BBQ, Jack on the Bone, Texas Pit Barbecue, Big Boned BBQ, Desperado’s BBQ and Bruno’s BBQ are all in attendance.

Admission to Ribfest is FREE Thursday through Saturday until 5:30 p.m. After that, cost is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for students, military, police and fire (with ID), and children under 13 are FREE. On Sunday, all admission is $3.

Saturday is the 3rd Annual Ribfest 5K.
