BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WISH) – According to the Beech Grove Police Department, officers have arrested a woman for her role in a fight at a Walmart.
Amber Stephenson, 34, has been arrested and charged with neglect of a dependent and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Those charges are a Level 6 felony and Class A misdemeanor, respectively.
Stephenson and Rebecca Mills fought each other in the shampoo aisle in a video that got national attention.
When talking to officers after the brawl, Stephenson said she saw and heard Mills threaten a Walmart employee.
After some verbal sparring, Mills got out of her motorized cart and the fight began.
The employee stated that she was re-stocking shelves and shopping carts full of merchandise were in the aisle.
The employee said Mills struck the carts with her motorized cart, then Mills began yelling at her.
In the video of the fight, Stephenson can be heard telling her six-year-old son to hit Mills. The boy can be seen hitting Mills with his fists and a shampoo bottle. At one point, the boy yells at a group of onlookers, saying “do not even tell me what to do.”
In an interview with detectives, Mills stated that the Walmart employee gave her a dirty look when she tried to apologize for striking the carts.
Walmart announced Tuesday that it has banned both women from the company’s property because of the fight.
