Man injured after being stabbed in abdomen

Police found the victim on the corner of West Killea and Harrison Streets.

KilleaStabbing1Fort Wayne, Ind. (WANE) – A man was hospitalized after being stabbed overnight Friday.

Fort Wayne police were called just before midnight by a woman who was hysterical and saying a man was bleeding everywhere, according to an incident report provided by the Fort Wayne Police Department. By 12:15 a.m. police had found the man the corner of West Killea and Harrison Streets.

Police at the scene said he suffered a stab wound to his abdomen. The incident report indicated he also suffered a cut to his lip that was sliced completely through, and a swollen ankle.

He was taken to Lutheran Hospital in serious, but stable condition.

It’s unclear where the actual stabbing occurred, but officers found blood at 314 Killea Street. When searching that area police also found a broken knife and evidence of drug and alcohol use.

Investigators are trying to determine what led to the stabbing.
