Hannah Strong is the Weekend Evening Meteorologist for News Channel 15. She graduated from Mississippi State University in May 2015 with a degree in Professional Broadcast Meteorology. While at Mississippi State, Hannah was an active member of the Northeast Mississippi Chapter of the National Weather Association/American Meteorological Society and team captain of the meteorology department’s forecasting team. She is also the official weather adviser of the Southeastern Conference during the spring/summer athletic season. Being from the South, Hannah has experienced severe weather first-hand. While in college, Hannah covered the EF-4 tornado that destroyed Louisville, MS, on April 28, 2014.
Hannah was drawn to meteorology because it combines her loves of math and science with the fun of broadcast TV. There’s always something new to learn about the weather, and that is Hannah’s favorite part. You also never know what’s going to happen on live television!
