Man arrested, home condemned after meth lab discovery

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A Fort Wayne man was arrested Thursday night after police found an active meth lab inside his home.

According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, members of the Emergency Services Team and Vice and Narcotics Division served a search warrant around 9 p.m. in the 1100 block of Lake Pointe Cove. The warrant was in relation to the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

FWPD Sgt. Mark Brooks said officers discovered an active meth lab inside the home. They arrested 31-year-old Steven E. Jahn who was home at the time police arrived.

Jahn faces five drug-related charges, including: manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of two or more precursors, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of paraphernalia.

The FWPD Meth Team neutralized the meth lab and the residence was condemned.
