STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A man was hospitalized after he was thrown from his moped Saturday afternoon. Emergency responders found James Kuhn, 42, of Pleasant Lake in a road in Steuben County.

Investigators suspect alcohol may have contributed to Kuhn’s crash, according to a release from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department.

Emergency units were called to County Road 150 West, just north of County Road 350 S around 5 p.m. Police said Kuhn was traveling north and missed a curve. He tried to steer back onto the road, but he lost control of the moped and was thrown into the street.

It’s not clear what kind of injuries Kuhn suffered. An EMS unit at the scene transported him to a hospital in Fort Wayne.

Police said he was not wearing a helmet.
