TinCaps host Military Appreciation Night

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Players for the Fort Wayne TinCaps will put on special jerseys Tuesday for Military Appreciation Night.

With the help from OmniSource and Steel Dynamics, the TinCaps were able to make complementary tickets available for military families, both active and veterans.

“This is the seventh consecutive year we’ve welcomed military to Parkview Field in this way and it’s even more meaningful given the recent return of the 122nd Fighter Wing from their six month deployment. Our hope is that they can enjoy a TinCaps game with their family as our guests,” TinCaps President Mike Nutter said.

The jerseys worn on Tuesday will be worn again at a game on the Fourth of July, during which the jerseys will be auctioned off. The proceeds will be donated to Honor Flight Northeast Indiana. In May, Honor Flight took its 16th group of veterans to the nation’s capital.

The TinCaps will also have kiosks highlighting many support organizations as part of their partnership with Northeast Indiana Military Assistance Network.

The TinCaps host the Great Lakes Loons in a doubleheader starting at 6:05 p.m.

Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies are available.
