DeKalb honors 1980 State Championship Team

WATERLOO, Ind. (WANE) – On Saturday dozens gathered at the Kruse Museum in Waterloo to celebrate the 1980 State Championship team and legendary head coach, Bill Jones.

Jones was at the helm for the 1980 state title winning team. The Barons won the State Championship with 1-0 win over Muncie Northside in a game that went to eight innings. In addition to a state title, Jones also led Dekalb to 612 wins, three regional titles and two semi-state crowns. He was a fixture at DHS for 27 years.
