FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The ECHL announced Wednesday that Fort Wayne goaltender Roman Will has been named CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for April, 2015.
Will, 22, generated a 4-1-0 record and finished with a 1.75 goals-against average and .940 save percentage in five appearances during the month.
The Pilsen, Czech Republic native registered two shootout victories among his four wins. Will stopped all five shooters in a 3-2 home win over Cincinnati April 8. He then capped the season with his sixth straight home win, another 3-2 shootout victory over the Cyclones, in Fort Wayne’s season finale April 11.
Will was named to the 2014-15 ECHL All-Rookie Team last week. He completed the regular season at 17-8-4, led first-year goalies and ranked fifth overall with a 2.41 goals-against average while placing third with a .921 save percentage for the year.
