FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Norwell grad Josh VanMeter was off to a hot start for the TinCaps, but his season could be cut short after suffering a leg injury in Monday’s 9-1 loss to Lansing.
The second baseman was turning a double play to end the top of the fourth. Rowdy Tellez slid into second base, crashing into VanMeter’s right leg. VanMeter was then taken to the hospital, where he is undergoing further evaluation.
The 20 year old went 2-4 on Opening Day for the TinCaps. He was walked in his one at bat on Monday,
