Inside The Zone – April 13 – Playoff Preview

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Blake Sebring – a new inductee to the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame – and WANE sports director Glenn Marini break down Fort Wayne’s first round playoff series with rival Kalamazoo in this week’s edition of “Inside The Zone.”

The Komets and K-Wings met 15 times during the regular season with Fort Wayne holding a slight edged at 8-7 against Kalamazoo.

However, the K-Wings had no problem with the Komets in their last meeting, beating Fort Wayne 6-0 at Wings Stadium this past Friday.

The Komets will be facing one of the league’s stop goalies in Joel Martin. Martined led the ECHL with 58 games player, 3,301 minutes and 1,604 saves.

The Komets go into the series without defenseman Joey Leach, who suffered a wrist injury that will require surgery and will keep him out of action until the summer.
