Women’s Lacrosse: Indiana Tech Defeats Lourdes

FORT WAYNE, Ind.- The third-ranked Indiana Tech women’s lacrosse team flexed their muscle in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Saturday, scoring 11 goals in the first 30 minutes to run over Lourdes, 16-4 at Warrior Athletic Field. Tech was led by a seven point performance from Alexa Winter and solid play between the pipes.

Tayler Campbell opened the scoring 40 seconds into play and less than a minute late Kristina Scott tallied her seventh of the season
– Winter then found Campbell and Alexis DiGiovanni for a pair of tallies to make it 4-0
– Lourdes got on the board at the 10 minute mark
– The Warriors scored nine unanswered points spanning both halves to put the game away
– A pair of goals each for Winter, Scott and Aubri Hazen as well as a third tally for Campbell made it 11-1 at the half
– Winter posted two more markers to start the second half
– The Gray Wolves added a goal in the 40th minute
– Winter netted her final goal of the game shortly after for a 14-2 advantage
Sam Vikstrom added two more for Tech before Lourdes netted a pair of the final margin

– Winter tallied five goals and had two assists on seven shots and now has 41 points (34 g, 7 a) on the season
– Campbell and Scott each scored three times with Scott also tallying an assist, two groundballs, two caused turnovers and three draw controls
– Vikstrom had two goals and two assists on two shots while also recording eight draw controls
– Hazen finished with two goals and DiGiovanni had three points on a goal and two assists
Meaghan Eldridge got the win, facing just four shots, saving one and allowing one goal in 30 minutes
– Tech was perfect in clears, outshot Lourdes 24-10, dominated draw controls 15-7 and put 19 shots on frame
