FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) This year’s theme for Women’s History Month in March is ‘Weaving the Stories of Women’s Lives.’ A sorority held a luncheon Saturday to honor six of those lives who are doing great things in the city.
The Fort Wayne Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated held its third annual awards luncheon to say thanks to several women whose achievements may go unnoticed.
Candice Connell-Jordan said this is a great opportunity to those highlight women.
“Look at these women [and] what have they done for us. And just the sacrifices they’ve made and continue to make,” she said.
Those who went to the luncheon also brought items for local homeless veterans’ organizations and donations for the March of Dimes.
Among the women honored was NewsChannel 15’s Terra Brantley.
