Making a forecast

Forecasting the weather for several days out can be tricky. Sometimes, forecasting what will happen just a few hours out can be just as difficult. When the Live Doppler 15 Fury Storm Team makes a forecast, we look at the past, present, and future.

Past weather, including climatology, similar storms, and data from where a system has already moved through, are valuable pieces of info. Often times, this data is used in computer forecast models too. We look at present data, including temperatures, dewpoints, winds, satellite, and radar to see what’s happening and what we can expect. All of this info is then combined with what we see in the computer forecast models, which provide an outlook into the future, ranging from hours to days, and even weeks, out.

In the Live Doppler 15 Fury Weather Center, we have the tools, knowledge and experience to analyze everything from what’s happening at the surface to what’s happening thousands of feet above the ground. It’s not about one person. We are a TEAM of meteorologists and we use our skills to provide you with the best severe weather forecast possible.
