FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Police Department and the prosecutor’s office is continuing to investigate the death of a man found in a closet in March.

Officers were called in the afternoon of March 28 to 216 W. Woodland Ave., which is west of Harrison Street. Police spokesperson Michael Joyner said that a Fort Wayne Community Correctional officer was on a home visit for a woman, and while talking to her and another man, he noticed a foul odor. Questioning led the officer to go into the upstairs bedroom where he found an adult body in the closet, Joyner said.

A neighbor, who lives across the street, said three adults lived in the home including the homeowner and the two people who spoke to police. A neighbor saw police take the couple in for questioning and said he hasn’t seen the homeowner for weeks. The neighbor claimed the couple told him the homeowner was having surgery. He said that police had been to the home several times.
