FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Two men accused in connection to a September shooting are set to go to trial soon.
Trayshaun Pernell and Kulon Lewis Junior are accused of being involved in a shooting on September 4, 2014 that left a man in critical condition. Police say the victim, Dytrell Allen, was shot in the back while he was walking on Drexel Avenue that afternoon.
Lewis was arrested a couple days after the shooting. Later in November, Pernell was arrested by the Gang and Violent Crimes Unit with the help of the Fort Wayne Vice and Narcotics Division and the FBI Safe Street Task Force.
Lewis and Pernell both face attempted murder and aggravated battery charges. Pernell’s trial is set for May 27 and 28. Lewis’ trial is set for June 9, 10, and 11.
