Teen ticketed after beer keg rolls out of pickup truck

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WANE) Indiana State Excise Police ticketed a South Bend teen on St. Patrick’s Day after they watched a keg of beer crash through the tailgate of the pickup truck he was driving.

One officer directed traffic around the keg which had rolled down the street, while the other officer stopped the driver.

The 18-year-old was ticketed for illegal transportation of an alcoholic beverage. In Indiana, a person must be at least 21 years old in order to transport an alcoholic beverage unless they are with their parents or legal guardian.

Excise officers also ticketed 23 other people while conducting St. Patrick’s Day patrols in South Bend.
