Suspect wanted in theft of $9,000 of alcohol

Police released these surveillance pictures of a man accused of using fraudulent credit cards to buy alcohol.

FORT WAYNE, Ind (WANE)  Police are looking for a man who they say used several different fraudulent credit cards to purchase thousands of dollars worth of alcohol from local liquor stores.

The man shopped at six of the Cap n’ Cork stores in Fort Wayne on March 3 and 4. He used a Georgia or California ID that matched the name on the credit cards.

On Tuesday, March 3, police say the suspect went to four locations. The first was in Covington Plaza on Jefferson Boulevard, where he bought $3,751.38 worth of merchandise. He also spent $975.86 at the Cap n’ Cork on Broadway, $1,090.01 at the Brooklyn Avenue location near Foster Park, and $437.47 at the store on Coldwater Road.

The following day he purchased $770.14 worth of merchandise at the store at 4520 Lima Road and spent $1,983.92 at the store at 10020 Lima Road.

The total amount of the loss was $9,009.84.

The man was driving a black Honda Civic with New York license plates.
