Police: Dealer arrested after meth lab found in vehicle

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) Deputies with the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man after they found a methamphetamine lab and drug related items inside his vehicle.

Thursday night, while the sheriff’s department was responding to a possible burglary in progress around SR 120, west of CR 800 W, they met a nearby resident, Zebekiah Wheeler, 36 of Orland. During the investigation, deputies got permission to search Wheeler’s vehicle. They found a meth lab, items commonly used to make meth and items that appeared to be meth and marijuana, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

Wheeler was arrested for dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of two or more precursors with intent to manufacture meth, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

He was incarcerated at the Steuben County Jail and is being held on a $19,000 bond.
