Neighbor calls in porch fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne fire crews responded to a porch fire around 1:30 p.m. Saturday on the northwest side of fire cedar ridge runtown. A neighbor saw the flames and called 911.

When firefighters arrived to 3212 Cedar Ridge Run, smoke was coming from the front porch. The fire was found under the siding of the porch and was extending into the ceiling of the garage. Crews had the fire under control in ten minutes, but they had to do a lot of overhaul to make sure the fire hadn’t spread into the house.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was hurt. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
