Police: Woman, child abducted in Wisc. found in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police in Indianapolis say they’ve found a woman and child who were allegedly abducted in Wisconsin.

Police aren’t releasing much information, but they say they have one person in custody involved in the abduction of a woman and child from Milwaukee.

They say the two victims are safe and cooperating with police.

IMPD found their car on West Washington Street, just west of Interstate 465, around 12:30 Friday morning. It was found in the parking lot of a fireworks store near a motel.

They said a domestic violence detective was called to the scene.

Police also said the woman and child hadn’t eaten in hours, so Southwest officers were able to give them some food as well.

It’s unclear where the three were going, how this all started, or what the relationship is between the man and the victims.

IMPD says Milwaukee police will be conducting their own investigation. Detectives in Indianapolis are looking into possible local charges for offenses here.

WANE’s sister station WISH has reached out to Milwaukee police but haven’t yet heard back.
