FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A step-father is being investigated for child molestation after a 6-year-old girl told a child care worker that her “daddy is disgusting,” according to a probable cause affidavit obtained from the Allen County Courthouse. The step-father, Devon Hutcherson, 23, faces eight counts of child molestation for incidents that started in the beginning of 2014.
In late July of that year, the girl told her mother about the inappropriate touching after Hutcherson was arrested for shoplifting and an outstanding warrant.
Court documents outline eight sexual encounters that happened between January and July of 2014.Court documents go into explicit detail about the incidents, which included touching and intercourse.
When the daughter was interviewed by police at the Bill Lewis Center for Children she said when her mother would go to work for a while, Hutcherson would touch her.
When police interviewed Hutcherson in July of 2014, he initially told police that he never touched the victim. However, later on in that interview with police, he admitted to at least one sexual encounter. He claimed the 6-year-old victim initiated some of the activity herself after he told her to “kiss my neck.”
According to court documents, DNA from the victim’s neck tested positive for Hutcherson’s DNA.
