FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Andre Emmett, the 2015 D-League All-Star Game MVP and arguably the best player on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants has quit the team according to team president Jeff Potter.
According to Potter, Emmett told him during a conversation Wednesday that he would be quitting the team in order to stay healthy for an upcoming contract to play in the Philippines following the conclusion of the Mad Ants season. Emmett also told Potter he hopes to get called up by an NBA team.
On Tuesday, Emmett, a 32-year-old who played his college ball at Texas Tech, scored 30 points in a losing cause against the Austin Spurs.
