Police respond to dozens of accidents Tuesday morning

Fort Wayne, Ind. (WANE) – Ice-covered roads contributed to numerous crashes Tuesday morning.

U.S. 27 was also ice-covered Tuesday morning.

In Fort Wayne, police responded to 26 reported accidents between 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Only two of those had possible injuries.

Indiana State Police, along with local and county police, were on the scene of multiple crashes and slide-offs at the following locations Tuesday morning:

Allen County: I-69 southbound between 302-303 mile markers

Huntington County: I-69 northbound at the 273 mile marker involving a jackknifed semi

Whitley County: US 30 west of Columbia City

Police ask drivers to to use extreme caution during the morning commute.
