Komets Score Three In The Third To Rally Past Evansville

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Capped by Matthew Pistilli’s goal with 2:42 remaining in regulation the Komets light the lamp three times in the third period to come from behind and defeat Evansville 4-3 Wednesday night at War Memorial Coliseum.

The Komets trailed 3-1 heading into to third period with the lone goal coming from defenseman Cody Sol, as Sol netted his sixth tally of the season on a slapshot in the second frame.

Defenseman Will Lacasse opened the third period scoring, netting his second goal of the season 5:31 in to the final frame. Christian Ouellet tallied his 11th goal of the year with just under five minutes remaining in regulation to knot the game at three. That set up Pistilli’s game-winner – assisted by Sol – as the Komets completed the third period rally.

Roman Will stopped 22-of-25 shots in goal for the Komets.

The Komets now prepare to face the Indy Fuel for two home games this weekend. Puck drops at 8 p.m. on Friday at the Coliseum, with a 7:30 p.m. start scheduled for Saturday.
