Whiteout conditions reported on I-69

ANGOLA, Ind. (WANE) Indiana State Police are reporting whiteout conditions in Steuben County where at least two accidents took place near the 342 mile marker north of Ashley that brought traffic to a standstill Wednesday afternoon. In one crash, a semi, a car and a cargo van collided and no one was injured. In the other crash, two semis hit each other. The interstate was closed for about an hour.

For a time, traffic was being routed off I-69 at the 348 mile marker (US 20).

Police are asking motorists to slow down and turn on headlights when driving in blowing snow.

Whiteout conditions were also reported in LaGrange County.
