FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who stole a crossbow from a sporting goods store.

Investigators said the suspect went into Dunham’s Sports on Lima Road around 7:45 p.m. on January 26 and walked to a display of crossbows. He took an assembled crossbow, covered it with his coat, and walked to the front of store. He hid it, put his coat back on, and left.

According to a police report, he immediately went right back into the store, located the hidden crossbow, and picked it up. He flashed a piece of paper at the cashier as though it was a receipt, but when the cashier tried to get a close look at the paper, he put it in his pocket and walked out.

The stolen crossbow is a 10 Point Titan Xtreme Crossbow valued at $799.99.
