FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A Fort Wayne home suffered major damage on Tuesday after a fire apparently started in the kitchen.
According to the Fort Wayne Fire Department, a neighbor noticed the fire and called it in around 10:30 a.m. When crews arrived at the home in the 3000 block of Pittsburg Street, they found the fire in the kitchen. Crews were able to put the fire out within six minutes, but aren’t yet sure how it started. No one injured.
The fire was confined to the kitchen, but there home also suffered moderate smoke and water damage. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
