IPFW turns pink for annual breast cancer event

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Breast cancer survivors will be honored at the 8th annual Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne Pink Out. The event will focus on raising awareness for breast cancer and funds for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. One dollar for every ticket sold will go toward the foundation.

The event will start with a luncheon at 12 p.m. in the International Ballroom. NewsChannel 15’s Gina Glaros will emcee the luncheon as breast cancer survivors are recognized. There will also be a silent auction.

The IPFW women’s basketball team will play North Dakota State at 2 p.m. in the Gates Sports Center as part of the annual Pink Out. Survivors of breast cancer will be honored at half-time. Fans are encouraged to wear pink for breast cancer awareness.

Admission is $20 for the lunch and game. Luncheon tables are for 8 for $140 and includes 8 game tickets. Breast cancer survivors get in for free. Guests must RSVP by February 18 and order tickets by calling 260-481-6958.
