WOLCOTTVILLE, Ind. (WANE) Despite horrible weather conditions on Saturday, a community came together to help raise funds for a family that lost their loved one after a crash in December.
Tonia Conley and her son, Antonio Rodriguez, were in a crash on Highway 9, south of LaGrange on December 22 of 2014. Rodriguez spent the next 11 days in the hospital on life support before he died. On Saturday, the Wolcottville community raised $2,500 to help pay for his final expenses.
The benefit had a chili dinner, bake sale and silent auction.
A trust was set up at Lake City Bank in Lagrange. Anyone who would like to help the family can make a deposit in Tonia’s name.
