Fort Wayne, Ind. (WANE) – Police are investigating an armed robbery at a 1st Source Bank that happened early Thursday morning.
Police were called to the bank in the 7800 block of Carnegie Boulevard, off Illinois Road, around 6:45 a.m. According to the release from the Fort Wayne Police Department, several armed suspects approached a bank employee and demanded money. After getting an undisclosed amount of money, they were seen driving east on Illinois road in a white-colored vehicle.
Police did not provide physical descriptions of the suspects.
No customers were in the bank at the time and no one was injured in the robbery. Police are currently processing the scene and reviewing video surveillance from the bank and nearby businesses.
Nearby schools were on lock down for a short time after the robbery was reported.

This incident remains under investigation by the Northeast Indiana Bank Robbery Task Force. This task force is composed of investigators with the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Police Department, the Indiana State Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
