FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The deadline for healthcare enrollment is just days away, and Lutheran Health Network is extending its free enrollment fairs to help anyone register for health insurance. The hospital has been offering enrollment help since January 14. The enrollment deadline is on Sunday February 15.

Under the Affordable Care Act, 2015 is the first year people are required to have health insurance or they face a tax penalty. People who don’t obtain insurance by Sunday will have a penalty applied to their annual taxable income. The penalty fee is $325 per adult and $162.50 per child or up to $975 per family, or two percent of a family’s income, which ever is higher.

To participate in the open enrollment fair, people need proof of residency or driver’s license, proof of income (W-2 or pay stub) for you and your family and a social security number for everyone who is applying for coverage.
