2/12 High School Basketball Recap

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Two area high school boys basketball teams claimed conference titles outright Thursday night. Homestead won the NHC with a win at Norwell and Leo remained unbeaten on the year, while winning the ACAC, with a win at Bluffton.

Homestead beat the Knights behind senior Caleb Swanigan’s 27 points and 11 rebounds. The Spartans 73-55 win moved the team 19-1 on the season.

Leo won with a balanced attack, while holding Bluffton to just two first-quarter points.

The Lions weren’t the only ones with great defense Thursday. Carroll topped Columbia City 61-26 and held the Eagles to just eight points in the first half.

Snider stepped out of conference play to host Blackhawk. The Panthers were trailing by four after one quarter, before going on to win, 51-46.
