FORT WAYNE (WISH/ WANE) — A giant in the retail technology sales industry is planning to shutter at least 45 stores across the state, including three in Fort Wayne, Columbia City and Kendallville.

Radio Shack, who earlier this week filed for bankruptcy, has not said when it plans to close the nearly 2,400 stores on its current chopping block.

According to a document outlining Radio Shack store closures, the Columbia City location at 426 West Plaza Drive and the Kendallville shop at 2513 East North Street will close.

Also on the list is the Radio Shack at 210 East Pettit Ave. It’s the only Fort Wayne location slated to close, which leaves five other locations open in the area.

There are 108 Radio Shack stores across the state, according to Radio Shack’s website.

Money problems have plagued the company in recent years, including last March, when it announced it planned to close 1,100 stores.
